I decided that, since it's the computer that does all the work, it might be worth seeing how the panorama would come out as originally intended... that is, wider. I like it better overall, but the unevenness in coloration is a lot more noticable.

Ahhh School. What happened to all that free time? Something I have yet to fully appreciate is the level to which doing things makes one want to do more things.
